Today (Friday), as in recent weeks, the number of police deployed throughout eastern Jerusalem and the Old City has been substantially increased, in light of the Arab rioting. Thousands of police officers have been deployed throughout the Old City, eastern Jerusalem and the neighboring villages in order to prevent the violent public disturbances.
Due to intelligence reports gathered by the Jerusalem police of the intent of younger Arabs to riot following their morning prayers, entrance to the Temple Mount has been restricted to Muslim males over the age of 35; no age restriction is applicable to females.
