According to a report from Reuters, Hamas still has 500 tunnels leading into Egypt out of Gaza from the original 1,500 it had dug, and before Egypt started to neutralize them.
The report also stated that over the last two years Hamas has constructed more than 200 tunnels, at a rapid, sometimes weekly, frequency. The tunnels are mainly used for weapons smuggling.
