In a phonecall yesterday (Monday), French President Francois Hollande notified Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas the first installment in the aid promised to him in the amount of 8 million Euros. This is in addition to the 3 million euros already provided to them to in aid for the populace in Gaza.
Hollande placed emphasis on the need for a long-term ceasefire that would meet both the needs of the Palestinians and Israel's security concerns.
