In a special meeting in the Knesset in honor of National Blind Day on Tuesday, MK Nissan Slomianski (Jewish Home) said that he will act to acquire increased funding for services geared towards those suffering from visual impairments.

“We will act towards acquiring an additional 1.65 million shekels in funding for services for the visually impaired, in order to facilitate funding salaries of blind employees working in protected factories, supportive services for those suffering from both visual and auditory impairments, rehabilitative counseling in dormitory facilities for those newly visually impaired, support programs for parents and families of visually impaired children and accessibility counseling,” the MK said.
