Pollard for Prisoners Makes Landau's Hair Stand on End

Tourism Minister Uzi Landau attacked, Tuesday, a deal taking shape to release Jonathan Pollard from prison in the United States in exchange for the release of hundreds of murderous security prisoners. Interviewed by Channel 10 Television, the Likud Beytenu lawmaker said he voted against the release of murderers as part of the deal to free soldier Gil'af Schalit.

Landau said it made his hair stand on end to hear about the deal, adding that Israel should learn from the United States, which has imprisoned Pollard for more than 28 years, despite calls in recent years by security figures for his release. He added, "The reason that they'll give us Pollard is so that we can sugar coat a cyanide pill."
