Rabbi Hezki Lipschitz of Kathmandu told Arutz Sheva news on Monday that he hopes the strike at the Foreign Ministry will not affect Passover. The rabbi and his wife help organize an annual Passover seder in the Nepalese capital for numerous Jewish travelers and residents of the mostly Hindu country. They usually obtain a shipment of matzah and other Passover items from Israel for the Jewish holiday, but the strike could cause a delay.
A current Israeli TV show entitled Kathmandu depicts a husband and wife team who operate a synagogue and outreach center in the city. The program is based on real Chabad shluchim, or emissaries.
