Jerusalem Biblical Zoo to Get New King

Jerusalem's Bibilical Zoo is due to greet its new 'king' tonight, when an Asiatic lion is due to arrive here from Sweden. The new lion will be replacing the 16-year-old male who died last summer.

'Gir', which is the name of the new lion, is a 2-year-old male who will be joining the Biblical zoo’s resident lioness, 16-year-old  Ileniya.  The zookeepers have said they will make sure the two are getting along before allowing them to roam the same den together.
