President Shim'on Peres attended a ceremony, Thursday evening, to mark China's national day. Congratulating the people and their leaders, he cited the Asian giant as "an example for the country that got out of serious poverty and became the growth engine of the world." He added, " Israel attaches great importance to strengthening its strategic relationship between China and I am proud of the growing and deepening collaboration between our two countries. Many countries around us in the Middle East have much to learn from China."
Chinese Ambassador Gao Yanping said, " mutual respect and trust are the foundations upon which the relationship between the two countries is based. We continue to act and bring about a relationship for a greater and brighter future."
