Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is oresently (Tuesday) meeting Hamas chief Khalid Mashaal in Ankara, according to a report by the Associated Press.
An aide to the Turkish Prime Minister said, on the condition he maintain his anonymity, that the two were meeting to discuss "regional developments." This is Mashaal's third visit to Ankara since 2012, marking the increasingly close ties between Turkay and Hamas.
Erdogan has long expressed an intention to visit the Gaza Strip, but the aide said that this was not on the agenda at this time.
