The sole winner of this week’s NIS 26 million lottery, is a resident of the central region, and father to eight children. He has said he is opening up saving accounts for his children, and is going to give 10% of the winnings to the poor, as required by Jewish tithing laws.
Today (Tuesday), the hero of our story arrived at the National Lottery office and told how he almost lost the winning ticket. “After finding out yesterday that I had won,,,I guess from all of the excitement I had shoved the ticket into my pocket where it was shoved into some other papers. Only when I took them out of my pocket did the winning ticket fall out from between them, and I realized how lucky I really was,” he related.
