Technion and China to Open Joint Institute in China

Israel's Technion, in cooperation with China's Shantou University, is planning to establish a joint techological institute in China.

The Li Ka-Shing Foundation, controlled by China's richest man, has contributed $130 million to the Technion for the establishment of a joint academic technological institute in China. 

The new institute will be called "Polytechnic Institute - Guangdong Technology" (TGIT).
