Approximately 200 people celebrated the holiday of Sukkot in the historic Abrishami synagogue in Tehran, Iran. reported AFP news on Wednesday. The holiday will end with Simchat Torah on Thursday. According to a 2011 Iranian census, between 8,750 Jewish people live in the country, although the figure is debated. Before the 1979 Islamic revolution between 80,000 to 100,000 Jewish people lived there with a community dating back to the 6th century.
