Report: US Naval Buildup off Syria Costs $27M a Week

The United States Department of Defense is spending 27 million dollars a week to prolong its military presence in the eastern Mediterranean region in case of an attack on Syria, according to a Thursday-evening report by the Associated Press.

The American navy maintains two aircraft carriers, two destroyers and an amphibious warship in the region. One aircraft carrier and one destroyer were going to leave the area but received an order to stay.
