For many students and other young people, this summer vacation has brought them together to work with the archeological dig at ancient Shilo.
Though “dig” has become a negative term in Israeli slang, these youngsters dug for all they were worth in order to uncover more findings from the time of the settlement of Eretz Yisrael, and that of the Tabernacle in Shilo.
The junior archeologists would come to the site for a five day period, working with enthusiasm at the excavation site in the mornings, and spending afternoons, evenings, and nights touring, listening to lectures, sitting around campfires, holding “kumtzitzim” (hootenannies), and barbequing.
