Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told visiting United Nations head Ban Ki-moon on Friday that the so-called "settlement blocs" will remain under Israeli sovereignty in any permanent agreement with the Palestinian Authority.
"As for the peace process, we must get to the root of the conflict. The root of the conflict was and still is the continuing refusal to recognize the Jewish state in any border. This is not about the settlements, which is an issue to be resolved, but is not the reason for the ongoing conflict," said Netanyahu.
