Iran’s new president, Hassan Rouhani, has appointed General Hussein Dehghan as the new Minister of Defense, replacing General Ahmad Vahidi. According to the former Military Secretary to the Prime Minister, Brig. Gen. Shimon Shapiro, the new Iranian DM spent his military career in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corp.

On the website, "Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs", Shapiro revealed that the new Iranian Defense Minister, who was the commander of the Revolutionary Guards, helped to build up Hizbullah’s military wing over the years, and in addition to this, was behind several of the attacks against U.S. forces in the region, as well as against Israel.
