"Antisemitism Begins with Graffiti and Ends in Murder"

The Lobby for Combating Antisemitism met in the Knesset on Tuesday for an inaugural session. The lobby was launched by Member of Knesset Dr. Shimon Ohayon (Likud - Yisrael Beiteinu).
The meeting was held with the participation of Economics Minister Naftali Bennett (Bayit Yehudi - National Union), MK Avigdor Lieberman (Likud - Yisrael Beiteinu), Tourism Minister Uzi Landau (Likud - Yisrael Beiteinu), Jewish Agency Chairman Natan Sharansky and the chairman of the World Zionist Organization's Department for Activities in Israel & Countering Antisemitism Yaakov HaGoel.
Among the issues discussed were Judeo-phobic postings on Facebook. The caucus sent a letter to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg pointing out that such hate speech may goes against Facebook's own guidelines and asked him to relate to the matter.
Hagoel stated that there has been a 30% increase in anti-Jewish acts. "It begins with graffiti and ends in murder," he stated. "The best solution is Jewish pride," he told the Knesset caucus. Hagoel is the child of Holocaust survivors. His department has hosted a series of seminars in Europe and Israel to help Jewish residents deal with Antisemitic attacks. Hagoel and Eitan Ori Behar of the WZO's Center for Diaspora Communications & Countering Antisemitism have also launched the successful iZionist.org website.
