Housing Minister Uri Ariel spoke, Thursday, at the Shilo Conference on Biblical Research and Archaeology. He told those in attendance, "Shilo is a place of life, prayer and connection." Referring to various sanctuaries that have served as substitutes for the Temples in Jerusalem, he said, "We have built many small sanctuaries but we need for the real Temple to be built on the Temple Mount."
Commenting on the political situation surrounding the Samarian (Shomron) location of the conference, Ariel said, "There are those who tell us that two states for two peoples is the real solution. And I say these are old wives' tales. Between the [River] Jordan and the [Mediterranean] Sea there can be only one state - the state of Israel."
