Radical British Imam Anjem Choudary, who is identified with the ideology of the Al-Qaeda international terror network, warned, Tuesday, that Canada would join the United States, Great Britain and France on its list of terror targets as a result of the Ottawa government's pro-Israel policy and participation in the war against terror. Interviewed by Montreal's La Presse, he said those things are viewed by Muslims as war against Islam.
Without citing the incidents where Muslims were killed, he called attacks in London, Paris and Boston, dating back to 2007, incidents of the often misinterpreted Biblical idea of an "eye for an eye". He refused to condemn the recent beheading of a British soldier by Nigerian Muslims in London, explaining that the concept of terrorizing the enemy in the framework of Jihad Muslim holy war appears in the Islamic holy book the Quran.
Most of the interview was translated into Hebrew on the Shalom Toronto Website.
