MKs Stern and Herzog Promoting Coexistence Covenant

MK Elazar Stern (HaTnuah) and MK Yitzchak Herzog (Labor) have requested Education Minister Shai Piron incorporate  the Gavison-Medan Religious-Secular Coexistence Covenant in the national Civic Studies curriculum. The covenant wishes to establish a more liberal national status quo on issues of civil marriage, public transportation on the Sabbath, secular burial and personal Jewish identity legal status.
