Soldier Suit over Kishon Cancer Rejected

The Haifa District Court rejected, Monday, a suit by 70 former Israeli soldiers, most of them from the Navy, who claimed that carcinogens discharged into the Kishon River for decades caused illness and death.

Judge Adi Zarankin ruled that although it was proven that the hazardous materials were found in the Kishon waters, the plaintiffs failed to prove that their exposure to it caused their ailments. He also ruled that they suffered from different ailments with different characteristics and did not constitute a homogeneous group.
