The Samaria (Shomron)-Judea District Police are starting a three-day campaign of enforcing traffic laws on the district's highways. The campaign will involve 17 patrol vehicles and a helicopter, with an emphasis on Highways 5, 55, 60, 90 and 5066. The effort will extend to the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv Highway (Route 1). Cameras for detecting speed violations will be operated on Highway 1, as well as Routes 437 and 575.
Dangerous driving in the district has been viewed as a form of terrorism.
