Senior military rabbis are in an uproar over a decision to make kashrut supervision a victim of the Defense Ministry's budget cuts. One of them asked Arutz Sheva, Friday "How do the Israel Defense Forces expect to recruit thousands of hareidi-religious Jews without giving them the minimum? Religious soldiers will stay away from the IDF."
The IDF Spokesperson's Office responded by saying, "The IDF is preparing to uphold the agreed-upon budget framework and efficiency proposals are being examined. The proposal has not been discussed and no decision has been made."
