Shekel Up; Euro Outpaces US Dollar, Pound, Yen

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .257 percent, Friday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.601, down .387 percent, while the Euro declined .285 percent to 4.8009 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.629, down .593 percent, while 100 Japanese yen fell 1.31 percent to 3.789 shekels. The Australian dollar slipped .176 percent to 3.4559 shekels, while its Canadian counterpart was fixed at NIS 3.5405, down .486 percent, and the South African rand rose .138 percent to .3641 shekels.
