Jerusalem Traffic to be Disrupted for 2nd Day of Races

The second day of the Jerusalem Formula Peace Road Show is scheduled for Friday with the route of the race closed between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., according to JangloCars participating in the show will depart from the northern part of the old train station compound – David Remez roundabout, continuing on Derech Hevron, Hativat Yerushalayim Street, Yitzhak Kariv and King David before returning to the Remez roundabout. The cars are scheduled to run between 11:00 a.m. and 2:20 p.m.

Alternate routes are as follows: from northern to southern Jerusalem: Tzanchanim – Sacks- Haneviim – Kia”ch – Agripas- Bezalel – Ben Zvi. From southern to northern Jerusalem: Hebron Road- Miriam Hahashmonait- Beit Lehem Road – Emek Refaim – Martin Luther King – Yitzhak Elchanan – Shalom Aleychem – Keren Hayesod. Another alternative is the Menachem Begin Freeway.

Parking will not be permitted on the following streets: Hebron Road, Between Navon Roundabout and Hativat Yerushalyim, David Remez street, King David street, Liberty Bell Park parking and part of the train station compound parking. The Mamilla and Karta parking lots will be closed until 1:00 p.m. Any car found parking those places will be towed to the Train Station Compound parking lot, although owners of local parking permits will be allowed parking in nearby areas.

Free shuttles will run from the Teddy Stadium parking lot and Kiryat Hale'um Parking lot from 9:00 until 4:00, and the light rail will run more frequently. To find out about other changes in public transportation, call *8787. The Jerusalem information center can be reached at 106 or 02 531-4600.
