Shekel Up; Yen Jumps; Euro Outpaces Pound; Dollar Down

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .251 percent, Thursday, against the other featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.615, down .331 percent, while the Euro edged upward .017 percent to 4.8146 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.6626, down .211 percent, while 100 Japanese yen jumped 2.242 percent to 3.8393 shekels. The Australian dollar slipped .084 percent to NIS 3.462 while its Canadian counterpart was fixed at 3.5578 shekels, down .294 percent, and the South African rand rose .221 percent to NIS .3636.
