Justice Minister Tzipi Livni addressed the Knesset Constitution Committee on numerous current issues Wednesday, "I believe the time is ripe for legislation of a formal Israeli Constitution. I used to advocate promotion of this issue pending national consent, but it would appear that certain minorities remain recalcitrant on approving this historic opportunity, despite the Constitution being for their own benefit. I say, move the constitution forward even without consensus."
On negotiations with the PA Livni added, "If we do not reach a permanent agreement with the PA soon, we may end up outnumbered in a demographic crisis."
