Teva Factory in France Inspected

Kol Yisrael radio reported that the French National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products completed on Tuesday an inspection of Israeli company Teva Pharmaceutical’s factory in France, and did not find any organizational failure or irregularities in the manufacturing and packaging of pharmaceutical products.

The inspection was performed following reports that several people in France, most of them elderly, died or were hospitalized in serious condition after taking sleeping pills that Teva accidentally sold in packaging of a drug used to treat pulmonary edema. In light of the error, Teva has decided, in coordination with the French Health Ministry, to stop all marketing of its drugs from its factory in France, according to Kol Yisrael.
