The Egyptian Oil Ministry announced, Monday, that Qatar is making a gift to Egypt of five shipments of natural gas. The first will arrive at the end of next month, with deliveries continuing through the middle of September. It is not known who large the shipments will be.
Egypt exported natural gas to Israel until repeated sabotage of the pipeline forced it to stop. It announced, last week, that it is cutting exports and telling major industries to slow output this summer to avoid a shortage, according to Qatar-based The Peninsula, which reported that thieves are siphoning off a fifth of the country's subsidized fuel.
