Hypervocal reports, A PA Arab mother is back home in the West Bank after Israeli doctors said they are unable to separate her newborn conjoined twins.
The mother, Basma Breiwash, delivered the babies — which share a heart, liver and other vital organs — three days ago at an Israeli hospital.
The 34-year-old said she knew she was carrying conjoined twins from her first trimester, adds Hypervocal.
As a devout Muslim, however, she refused to abort. “I am a religious woman and I cannot kill my children with my own hands,” she said.
The Israeli hospital, Hadassah Medical Center, said Breiwesh’s twins shared too many internal organs, precluding separation. Hypervocal notes Breiwesh said she was treated well in Israel, but she decided to return home to be closer to her four other children.
