Report: 500 Arab Teachers for Jewish Schools

About 500 Arab teachers will be hired to teach in Jewish schools over the next five years to cover shortages in teachers for mathematics, science and English, in addition to Arabic, according to a Tuesday-morning report by Kol Yisrael government radio. About 100 of them will start work in the upcoming school year.

The Education Ministry has begun work to find the proper candidates and formulate procedures for integrating them. The cost of the program is about six million shekels.
