Ya'alon, Lieberman Agree on Knesset Defense Oversight

Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon held his first review of the security situation before the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Monday morning. Before the committee meeting, Ya'alon and Committee Chairman Avigdor Lieberman met to discuss Knesset supervision of the defense establishment, against the backdrop of friction between Ya'alon and the committee.

Speaking to reporters, Lieberman said the two had reached agreement on parliamentary oversight and hoped the agreement would trickle down to lower levels on both sides. Noting his displeasure at headlines about the friction between him and the committee, Ya'alon pledged his full cooperation, adding that the supervision would follow his completion of his ministry's work program.
