Shekel Down; Yen Outpaces Euro, Pound; Dollars Mixed

The official value of the shekel declined an average of .148 percent, Friday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.683, up .027 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro rose .383 percent to 4.7988 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.5999, up .357 percent, while the same percentage increase meant a rate of 3.5693 shekels to the Canadian dollar. The Australian dollar slipped .065 percent to NIS 3.5447 while 100 Japanese yen fell .717 percent to 3.653 shekels, and the South African rand plunged 2.934 percent to NIS .3606.
