Egypt Worried by Ethiopian Attempts to Dam the Nile

President Mohammed Morsi convened a meeting of high-level ministers, Thursday, to discuss Egyptian steps in response to Ethiopia's to dedicate a dam on the Blue Nile, which carries 85 percent of the water which eventually reaches Sudan and Egypt, according to the Al-Yaum Al-Saba' daily.

Egypt keeps careful tabs on all projects to produce electricity by countries in the Nile Valley to make sure that none of the water is used to irrigate agricultural land, which would hurt the size of Egypt's water quota.
