An iniative of the Israel Defense Forces, the Employment Service and the Manufacturer's Association will give soldiers occupational training as they near their scheduled release. The pilot program was unveiled this week during a gathering in the western Galilee Druze village of Julis.
Dozens of soldiers from the Ordnance Corps who attended the gathering are candidates for the program. During the approximately three months before their discharge, they will learn skills needed to enter the plastics industry, which needs the staffing. Organizers say they will receive above average salaries. The employment service will pay the Shenkar College of Engineering and Design to carry out the training.
