Emergency sirens will be sounded in most parts of the country at 12:30, Monday afternoon as part of the Homefront Command's Turning Point 7 civil defense drill. When the sirens sound, the public will be asked to enter shelters or safe areas. The drill will be repeated at 7:05 p.m.
The Israel Defense Forces decided that the area within seven kilometers/4.3 miles of Gaza will not take part in the drill. Local authorities complained that all sirens in addition to the real alerts endured by area residents would harm them, especially the children.
