Economics and Religious Affairs Minister Naftali Bennett said, Monday morning, that agreement can be reached on an equal burden of national service for all sectors of Israeli society. Interviewed by Israel Defense Forces Radio, the chairman of Habayit Hayehudi (Jewish Home-New National Religious Party) said, "We are in an historic process of connecting the hareidim to Israeli society, which hasn't been done in [the] 65 years [of the state]. It's difficult and I'm convinced [the matter] will be solved and we will find the wording that will allow the hareidim to serve and join the labor market. Nobody says it's easy but I think there are more agreements than disagreements."
Bennett stressed that "Nobody wants to see brigades of police raid [the predominantly hareidi city of] Bnei Brak, but on the other hand, they want to see them integrate in induction."
