Remand of El'ad Mayor Extended to Tuesday


The Rishon Letzion Magistrates Court extended by two days, Sunday, the remand of Mayor Yitzchak Idan of the predominantly hareidi-religious Tel Aviv-area city of El'ad and businessman Motti Cohen, who are suspected of bribery and money laundering.

The two were arrested, Sunday morning, with three other suspects, following raids by fraud and income-tax investigators on the homes and offices of the suspects. The specific charges are taking and accepting bribes, acting as intermediaries for bribes, fraud, breach of trust, planning and building violations, theft by unauthorized means, money laundering and tax violations.
