Shekel, Dollars, Yen Down; Euro Outpaces Pound

The official value of the shekel declined an average of .166 percent, Friday, against most of the other featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.696, down .162 percent from Thursday's rate, while the same percentage decline meant a fixing of 3.5743 shekels for its Canadian counterpart and the Euro rose .64 percent to NIS 4.7983.

The pound sterling was set at 5.5871 shekels, up .163 percent, while 100 Japanese yen slumped .685 percent to NIS 3.6246. The Australian dollar was fixed at 3.5775 shekels, down .334 percent, and the South African rand advanced .467 percent to NIS .3874.
