Ranking Arad Police Removed over Bedouin Murders

National police chief Yochanan Danino decided, Thursday evening, to remove Commander Yoni Zaytek of the Arad police station, his deputy and investigations chief due to shortcomings in their handling of the case of two girls in the nearby community of Al-Fur'a, who were murdered earlier in the week. Danino stressed that the station's treatment of the case was "highly unusual" and "does not meet the high professional standards expected from Israel Police officers and their superiors, especially in such a sensitive field, and in this sense, the shortcomings that occurred were accented even more."

It was also decided to record a note about the investigator who took evidence and the station's investigation coordinator.
