The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange ended the trading week, Thursday with losses ranging from modest to sharp. The TA Composite Index finished the day at 1,093.81, down 1.65 percent from Wednesday's close, while the TA 100 declined 1.57 percent to 1,091.44, including a 1.4-percent drop to 1,215.40 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 plummeted 2.96 percent to 975.38.
Worst hit was the biomed index, which closed at 848.26, down 2.64 percent, while the rest of the technology issues sank 2.61 percent to 317.79. The insurance stocks posted a close of 1,350.99, down 2.02 percent as the financial institutions fell 1.9 percent to 1,112.92, including a 1.59-percent loss to 1,151.75 by the bank index. The oil and natural-gas issues stood at 1,157.10, down .83 percent, and the communications stocks declined .42 percent to 552.69.
