A series of Israeli individuals and institutions were awarded with an honorary doctorate from the Bar Ilan University on Tuesday evening.
These included Professor Dan Shechtman, winner of the 2011 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, former Mossad chief Efraim Halevy, the founder of the Yiddishpiel Theatre in Israel Shmuel Atzmon-Wircer, and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.
