The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened trading, Tuesday morning, with slight gains in mixed trading. About 50 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,109.20, up .02 percent, while the TA 100 rose .03 percent to 1,105.69, including a .01-percent advance to 1,230.25 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,006.16, down .04 percent.
Leading the gainers was the biomed index, which rose .67 percent to 871.08, while the rest of the technology issues stood at 326.32, up .57 percent. The communications stocks followed at 551.75, up .56 percent, while the oil and natural-gas index advanced .11 percent to 1,169.31. The real-estate issues slipped .07 percent to 351.18 and the bank issues stood at 1,166.97, down .23 percent, as the financial institutions declined .48 percent to 1,122.81, including a .98-percent drop by the insurance stocks.
