Samaria Council Chairman Gershon Mesika explains the real reason why the EU decided to prevent labeling of Yesha products, "This is not because of US pressure in advance of negotiations with the PA. The EU has simply realized the truth: If Yesha products are labeled and boycotted, vast numbers of PA Arabs employed in Yesha industries stand to lose their jobs in case the production lines take a loss. Jews can easily get other positions, and collect unemployment until then, not so the PA Arab employees."
