MK Erel Margalit (Labor) apologized on his Facebook page on Sunday, a day after he was caught by police while driving at a speed of 161 kilometers per hour. His driver’s license has been revoked and he will face trial.
In his apology, Margalit wrote, "Last night I was caught speeding on Highway 6. I'm not proud of it, just sharing. Reckless driving endangers life, I am aware of its implications and dangers."
He added, "I was wrong and I'm sorry. A good word for the officers who arrested me: they did their job properly, fairly and professionally. It's good to know that the Israeli police is in so many places, even at night. As a citizen, I thank them for that."
