Shekel, US Dollar, Pound, Yen Up; Euro Down

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .169 percent, Friday, against most of the other featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.644, down .082 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro declined .213 percent to 4.687 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.5508, down .149 percent, and 100 Japanese yen slipped .087 percent to 3.5535 shekels. The Canadian dollar was fixed at 3.5565 shekels, down .612 percent, while its Australian counterpart fell 1.013 percent to NIS 3.5463, and the South African rand was fixed at .3869 shekels, down .616 percent.
