Ministry: Israel Not Ready for Unconventional Attack

"As of 2012, the preparedness of government offices and authorities for the threat of unconventional weapons is low to medium," according to the Homefront Defense Ministry's annual report for 2012, which was cited, Friday morning, by the Yisrael Hayom daily. The report called the probability of chemical terror "high".

One of the central problems is the low level of readiness in self-defense kits, where only 60 percent of the population is equipped. The inventory to equip the rest of the population is not enough because of insufficient budget. Within this group is a lack of gas masks for people with beards.
