Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted modest to moderate gains in early Tuesday trading. About 50 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,072.86, up .23 percent, while the TA 100 rose a quarter of a percent to 1,070.20, including an advance of .21 percent to 1,195.71 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 965.54, up .05 percent.
Leading the gainers was the technology index, which stood at 556.83, up 1.05 percent, while the biotech issues advanced 1.04 percent to 841.58 and the rest of the technology stocks stood at 303.62, up .13 percent. The insurance index gained .32 percent to 1,322.37 while the bank issues declined .13 percent to 1,142.43 to leave the financial institutions unchanged at 1,099.08. The real-estate stocks rose .17 percent to 338.50 while the oil and natural-gas index stood at 1,148.91, up .04 percent.
