Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein decided, Sunday, to complete, in the near future, his preparation of a regulation to examine the free will interest of illegal infiltrators to Israel to return to their countries of origin. While he stressed that there a lot of Eritreans and Sudanese who have expressed a desire to return to their home countries, the free will of those in custody must be examined.
Weinstein and senior Justice Ministry officials dealing with the issue of infiltrators and refugees met with representatives of neighborhood councils in southern Tel Aviv, who described a lack of security in the wake of the influx of infiltrators to the area. The attorney general promised the justice system's engagement to create the necessary responses, although he said, "There are no magic solutions." He declared his intention to visit the area and get a first-hand look at the situation, as he did last year.
