The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange started the trading week, Sunday, with modest to moderate losses. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,070.35, down .76 percent from Thursday's close, while the TA 100 declined eight tenths of a percent to 1,067.55, including a drop of .83 percent to 1,193.16 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 ended the day at 965.04, down .49 percent.
Worst hit was most of the technology index, which fell 1.7 percent to 303.24, while the biomed issues stood at 832.93, down a tenth of a percent, and the communications stocks lost 1.59 percent to 551.04. The insurance index lost 1.34 percent to 1,318.19 as the financial institutions finished the day at 1,099.05, down 1.04 percent, including a loss of .98 percent to 1,143.90 by the bank issues. The real-estate stocks closed at 337.93, down .51 percent, while the oil and natural-gas index declined .38 percent to 1,148.48.
